Rexroth’s Bauma Unveilings

A new control solution for hydrostatic travel drives will be unveiled at the Bauma trade show by Rexroth. The company will present its BODAS electronic drive controller eDA which the company said is a future-compatible and scalable control solution for hydrostatic travel drives. It is available either as a completely pre-programmed or an open, extensible system.

Rexroth will also be promoting its new axial piston variable pump – the A10VOH which is designed for a wide range of applications with a nominal pressure of 320 or 350 bar and features self-priming ability.

Rexroth can be found in booths A3-327 and A5-326,

Focusing on the electronic variant of its hydraulic DA controls, the company said they are characterized by their driving comfort and reliability. Rexroth said the eDA is particularly suitable for wheeled loaders, telescopic handlers and fork lift trucks, but also for other applications that previously used conventional DA controls.

As a basic solution, with a fully electrified A4VG drive pump and A6VM hydraulic motor, the electrohydraulic solution opens up new machine concepts and target markets for manufacturers, the company said.

Rexroth said that as an alternative to strictly hydraulic DA controls, BODAS-drive eDA is an applicable as an electrified solution for simpler drive architectures. With eDA, Rexroth said it offers a package that includes the electronic, speed-dependent control of hydrostatic gearboxes, with the BODAS-drive DRC applicable for more complex drive architectures with transmission management.

The BODAS-drive eDA is available either as a completely pre-programmed or as an open, extensible system. A graphic user interface, combined with practical user instructions, makes a guided commissioning possible.

The parameterization of the pre-programmed functions is based on the established physical parameters of the machine. The number of dynamic parameters is reduced to a minimum and the software structure minimizes the interdependencies, Rexroth said. The entire system is based on a structured, step-by-step optimization.

Users can integrate specific desired features, such as operating elements or functions regarding the travel drive, working hydraulics, or the vehicle’s electrical system, or jointly develop them in cooperation with Rexroth.

The A10VOH axial piston variable pump is designed to be used for applications previously served mostly by high-pressure units, including steering drives, hydrostatic fan drives and working hydraulics, said Rexroth.

The A10VOH features high-speed self-priming. With a permissible rated speed of 2,300 r/min it can achieve maximum displacement of 145 cm³ – without any impellers.
