01 October 2021
Quantron AG has introduced its new Q-Light FCEV transporter which features a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain.
The model, which has a maximum load capacity of 4.2 tonnes, features a fuel cell developed by AE Driven Solutions. The powertrain solution has already been fitted to more than 400 vehicles.
The Q-Light can be driven as an electric vehicle or in fuel cell mode. The fuel cell delivers 15 kW and battery capacity is 37 kWh. Waste heat from the fuel cell can be used to heat the cabin in order to save power.
Fitted with a full complement of four hydrogen tanks, maximum range of the Q-Light transporter is said to be 500 km (310 miles). Load capacity is similar to that of a diesel-powered model.
The chassis of the Q-Light supports various applications, including logistics or deliveries. Quantron reports that it is also looking to launch a 7.2 tonne variant, supported by the scaleable fuel cell.
