Nokian Tyres has extended its range of truck tyres with the addition of three new variants.

According to the company, super single trailer wheels are popular in various countries, but the heaviest trucks need dual wheels. For these models, Nokian has introduced the 275/70R22.5 Hakka Truck Trailer tyre.

Intended for Nordic and Alpine regions where changeable road conditions are common, the new tyres replace the previous Hakka 844+ range.

“We introduced the Nokian Tyres Hakka Truck Trailer range in the summer of 2021”, says Teppo Siltanen, product manager at Nokian Tyres. “The reception has been very positive among people who transport dangerous goods, liquids or bulk in the most challenging road and weather conditions.”

The tyre is described as being ‘smooth rolling’, while delivering good grip, while still delivering safe, sustainable and economical mileage.

Another new tyre is the Hakkapeliitta E2, a flagship winter truck tyre intended for use on the drive axle. The ‘next-generation grip’ is said to reduce the need for chains, while also offering low-rolling resistance, durability and longevity.

A third introduction is the E-Truck product line. These trailer tyres are described as offering excellent load-bearing capacity for Super Single truck trailers, delivering safe economical mileage in less severe conditions.

“The new Nokian Tyres E-Truck Trailer XL tire size 385/65R22.5 enables an axle load of up to 10 tons,” said Siltanen. “This means more efficient transports with bigger loads.”

Nokian Tyres can also use Noktop retreads. Featuring identical tread patterns applied in a controlled curing process, the retreads offer performance very close to the original tyres. Retreads are available for all Nokian Hakkapeliitta E2 and truck trailer tyre sizes, as well as for other most common tyre sizes.
