Hitachi adds compact excavators to Zaxis-7 range

ZX95US-7

Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCME) has added two new models to its range of Zaxis-7 compact excavators for the European market.

With an maximum operating weight of 9.8 tonnes, the ZX95US-7 and ZX95USB-7 are powered by a Stage V compliant Yanmar engine that delivers engine power of 50.5kW.

The machines are larger than the ZX85-6 model and, according to HCME, offer 10% greater stability and 4% greater digging force for improved productivity.

Elsewhere, a short turning radius and shorter distance between the bucket and make them an ideal solution for work in confined areas.

Attachments can be quickly changed using the enhanced attachment support system on the LCD monitor and the factory-ready quick hitch system including piping.

According to Hitachi, the excavator’s also come with a variety of features that “increases profits and reduces costs” while providing “enhanced comfort and safety features” for the operator.

The cab is equipped with low entry level access, improved pedal layout compared to previous models and offers a “superior view of the job site” thanks to the Aerial Angle camera system which provides a 270-degree bird’s-eye view, with six image options available.

For work in low light conditions, an ambient light for the camera is also available, while lights on both the boom and cab provide added illumination of the jobsite.

Meanwhile, the ergonomic design of the console and switches and access to controls is said to provide easy operation for drivers.

The Stage V engine is said to reduce the need for certain types of maintenance as it doesn’t require an SCR system. Additionally, easier access to the radiator, the inclusion of a large engine compartment for easy servicing and maintenance and ease of battery replacement make improve machine uptime.

For fleet management, HCME’s remote monitoring systems send data from the excavator to its Global e-Service,  providing a monthly summary of information to the user.

Chris Bardas, product manager, excavators, HCME, said, “We are proud to introduce the new ZX95US-7 and ZX95USB-7 models to our customers. These powerful compact machines have been designed and engineered to deliver exceptional performance, the ultimate in operating comfort, and reduced running costs.”
