Two Killed In Shooting At Cummins

Two men have been fatally shot in an apparent murder-suicide at Cummins Inc.’s Seymour Technical Center, Indiana State Police said Thursday.

Early reports indicate that the shooting took place shortly after 8:30 a.m. on the second floor of the building. The Technical Center and the adjacent Seymour Engine Plant are in Seymour, Ind., about 60 mi. south of Indianapolis and employ about 1100 workers.

Additional information about the two dead and the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been released. As of 9:30 a.m., police were reporting that the scene has been secured.

Cummins spokesman Jon Mills said the building was placed on lockdown as police investigated.

Cummins is headquartered in Columbus, Ind.
