Zoomlion Opts For Dana

By Ian Cameron02 April 2019

Dana Incorporated has announced that Zoomlion has selected the company to supply Brevini winch drives and slew drives for its first line of mobile all-terrain cranes offered in Europe.

Designed and manufactured in Italy by Zoomlion, ATC 960 and ATC 1000 all-terrain cranes are scheduled for production in 2020 and will debut at Bauma.

“Our new line of ATC all-terrain cranes has been designed with best-in-class features to meet the high expectations of European equipment buyers,” said Davide Cipolla, general manager for Zoomlion CIFA Europe.  “Dana has been a supplier to CIFA for more than 20 years, which is why we trust their engineers to provide motion products that deliver performance and reliability.”

Brevini winch drives have a compact, modular design that, the company said, enables vehicle manufacturers to specify gear ratios and select the optimal transmission size while meeting application needs for line speed, line pull, and braking capability.

Suitable for severe-duty use, Brevini slew drives use a planetary design that withstands high torque values in a compact, high-efficiency package, Dana added.

“Dana has decades of experience in helping the owners of construction equipment work in the harshest environments in the world,” said Aziz Aghili, president of Dana Off-Highway Drive and Motion Technologies.  “We look forward to leveraging our expertise as Zoomlion expands its mobile crane offering across global markets.”

Zoomlion will exhibit its full line of construction and mining equipment at Bauma in outdoor stand FS.905/2, while Dana will present its selection of drive and motion technologies in hall A3 at stands 326 and 139.  Dana will also present live demonstrations of an aerial work platform and mini excavator with Spicer Electrified drive technologies and high-efficiency Brevini motion products at outdoor stand 45A.9, between halls A4 and A5.
