Stage 5 Certification For Deutz TTCD 7.8 Diesel

By Mike Osenga10 November 2017

Germany’s Deutz AG said it has been awarded the EU Stage 5 certificate for its six-cylinder TTCD 7.8 model.  Deutz made the announcement ahead of next week’s Agritechnica agricultural trade fair.

Deutz’s said the in-line TTCD 7.8 diesel is applicable for heavy-duty tractor applications due to its compact design and twin turbochargers. In addition, the  structural oil sump functions as part of the chassis.  The TTCD 7.8 generates maximum torque of 1565 Nm at 1500 r/min.

In September 2017, Deutz was the first engine manufacturer to be certified for the EU Stage 5 emissions standard, initially for its TTCD 6.1 diesel, which was followed by the TCD 3.6 and TCD 4.1 models.

Deutz said changing from the current EU Stage 4 to Stage 5 requires no additional installation space for the engines.
