SGS Acquires Test Specialist CyberMetrix

SGS SA, Geneva, Switzerland, announced it has acquired Columbus, Ind.-based CyberMetrix Inc. (CMX). No financial details were provided.

CMX is a supplier of test cells, equipment and services to meet the testing requirements of engine and power systems. Established in 1992, the company has recently seen significant expansion at its two Indiana facilities – including the installation of a climate test center — as well as establishing several new global offices (see November 2015 Diesel Progress). The company reported 2015 revenues in excess of $15 million.

Established in 1878 as a grain inspection house, SGS is a global supplier of inspection, verification, testing and certification services, with more than 1800 facilities and offices around the world and approximately 85,000 employees.

“This acquisition is an excellent addition to the four companies we have recently acquired in the U.S. automotive market,” said Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS. “It allows us to further diversify our portfolio of services in the powertrain and component testing sectors, which are key areas of growth for our newly created Transportation division.”
