Scania To Power Oshkosh Snow Blowers

By pdamon29 July 2016

Scania announced it has been selected as the main supplier for Oshkosh’s H-Series Tier 4 final/Stage 4 single-engine snow blower offering. The snow trucks will operate globally at facilities such as airports, municipalities and departments of transportation.

Oshkosh Corp. cited several reasons for selecting Scania engines, including Tier 4 final emissions compliance that doesn’t require a diesel particulate filter (DPF), the necessary horsepower and torque in a 12 to 13 L platform and Scania’s front engine power take-off ratings that allowed Oshkosh to drive the hydraulic pump size needed for the H-Series’ hydrostatic system. “In addition, Scania has a worldwide service network to support their products and our customers,” said Les Crook, Snow Products manager, Oshkosh Airport Products. “This was an important element in our decision process, as well, since Oshkosh has worldwide distribution.”

Scania meets emissions regulations via selective catalytic reduction (SCR), without the need for a DPF, the company said.
