Curtiss-Wright’s Industrial division has launched a new electronic floor pedal for commercial vehicle applications. The WM-558 pedal incorporates a non-contacting, Hall-effect sensor that can be programmed for analog output and/or integrated switches. Designed by the corporation’s legacy brand of Williams Controls, the new pedal is engineered to be highly EMI resistant (SAE J1113 compliant), incorporates IP68 and IP69k sealed electronics and can be customized with contact or PWM output sensors.

The WM-558 floor pedal is constructed using die-cast aluminum and high-strength composite plastics and is able to address a broad range of mounting options, the company said, with a standard treadle angle of 35° or 45°. The pedal is designed for a rated product life of three million travel cycles and operating temperature range is -40° to 185° (-40° to 85°C).
