Marcopolo Acquires Metalsur

Brazilian bus manufacturer Marcopolo SA has acquired Metalsur, a bus body manufacturer in Argentina.
With the acquisition, Marcopolo takes the control of Metalsur, leading the company’s operations. “We are a strong and traditional brand with a close relationship with the market and the Argentinean transport operators. We want to reinforce our good presence and performance in the country,” said André Vidal Armaganijan, director of Strategy and International Affairs at Marcopolo
Marcopolo has worked in the Argentinean market for more than 40 years. In 2018 approximately 1500 urban and road bus bodies were produced by Marcopolo in Argentina. Another 300 buses were imported from the Brazilian plant.
“For believing in the Argentinean economy’s potential and in its retake, Marcopolo is investing at this moment,” said Armaganijan.
