MAN Engines, Sunseeker extend decades-long supplier relationship

MAN Engines and Sunseeker International have again extended their supplier relationship, which dates back several decades and covers the supply of propulsion engines to the Poole, England-based luxury yacht manufacturer. The companies signed the agreement last month at the Boot boat show and watersports exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The supply agreement covers engine series from MAN Engines’ V8 and V12 products rated between 1200 and 2000 hp (882 to 1471 kW). The engines are fully compliant with IMO Tier II, EPA Tier 3 recreational and China 2 recreational emissions standards, allowing for global sales and operation. In addition, nearly 500 service stations for yacht engines worldwide ensure reliability, MAN Engines said.

The engines will be fitted into Sunseeker’s boat series 76 Yacht, 74 Sport Yacht, Predator 75 and Manhattan 68. In addition, two MAN V12-1900 12-cylinder V-engines will serve as propulsion for the 89-ft. Sunseeker 90 Ocean, the largest product line to be powered by MAN engines. The engines have a 24.2 L displacement and are rated 1900 hp each (1397 kW) with maximum torque of 6220 Nm at 1200 to 2100 rpm.
