Kohler Engines has announced that its Reggio Emilia, Italy, engine campus has received ISO 50001 certification. ISO 50001 is a global standard for energy management systems and certification requires that a facility meet requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving a comprehensive energy management system.

Kohler Reggio Emilia Koher Engines announced it has received ISO 9001 certification for its Reggio Emilia facility.

Kohler said the certification is proof that the organization is committed to constantly improve its energy performance for better energy management, cost savings and reduction of environmental impact. The site earlier achieved ISO 9001 quality management certification.

“I would like to congratulate the entire team for this great achievement, another step in Kohler’s commitment to improving its impact on the environment” said Vincenzo Perrone, Kohler Engines president. “Our care for the environment is not only due to our products, which are designed to achieve extremely efficient combustion, we apply it to every aspect of our work: innovative processes, modern facilities, plant management and now also excellent energy management. This project is a great example of bold innovation.”

Kohler Engines manufactures single-cylinder, twin-cylinder and multicylinder diesel engines from 3.4 to 140 hp at Reggio Emilia.
