By Murray Pollok22 July 2019

Two senior executives in the engines and construction equipment industry, Ramin Younessi of Caterpillar and Jennifer Rumsey of Cummins, will give the keynote addresses at the first Diesel Progress Summit (DPS) in Louisville, Kentucky on September 30.
A senior figure in the engine and powertrain business, Younessi is Caterpillar’s Group President, Construction Industries Group, and was previously leading Cat’s Energy & Transportation business.
He joined Caterpillar in 2013 after a 30-year career in commercial vehicles and engines, which included senior leadership positions at Daimler AG and Navistar Inc.
Younessi’s presentation will give a global perspective on the development of power systems for on- and off-road machinery, and provide high-level context for the other conference speakers.
Rumsey is Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Cummins, responsible for research and engineering across Cummins’ business segments.

In her current role Rumsey leads Cummins’ global technical organization of approximately 10,000 employees responsible for research and engineering. She plays a key part in setting the strategy for the company.
Her early career focused on control systems and system engineering; initially at a fuel processing and fuel cell start-up company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2000 she moved to Cummins and has worked in a variety of engineering roles across its Engine and Components businesses.
The Diesel Progress Summit is a one-day conference and awards event for the global engine, powertrain and engine-powered-equipment industry, taking place in Louisville, KY on September 30, 2019, the day before the ICUEE Expo.
