JCB is to offer a further 200 agency employees full time contracts in response to demand reaching “historic highs”.

The 200 permanent jobs being created means that JCB has converted 1,300 agency positions to full-time contracts in 2021 and 2022.

Mark Turner, JCB’s Chief Operating Officer, who himself joined the company as an agency worker more than 30 years ago, said: “Demand for JCB’s construction and agricultural products remains very strong and that means we have been able to offer 1,300 agency colleagues permanent JCB contracts since last year.”

He added; “We have great confidence in the future and there are immense opportunities to progress at JCB by joining us as an agency employee.”

In 2022, JCB has increased its workforce by almost 300 people at its 11 UK plants in Staffordshire, Derbyshire, and Wrexham. The plants now employ around 8,000 people.

Demand for JCB machines has reached historic highs this year, said the company, with many products now sold out for the remainder of the year.
