The Brazilian manufacturer Jacto has opened a plant in Argentina to produce three models of tractor sprayers from its Arbus line and a self-propelled sprayer from Uniport line. The facility is 38,759 sq, f.t (3600 m²) and is located in Arrecifes, 180 km from  Buenos Aires.

The self-propelled Uniport 3000, made exclusively for the local market, has a tank of 3000 liters and spraying bars 30 meters long.  It is powered by a 140 hp Cummins 4.5 L turbocharged diesel that drives an Eaton gearbox with a Dana differential.

“It is a machine with adequate specification for Argentinean producers and service workers who tackle great extensions and demand more work capacity. The market wants precision technology, rough machinery with low maintenance that supplies quality and safety for the operator and for the environment. These are Jacto characteristics and we trust they will be part of the new product,” said Marcelo Blanco, commercial manager at Jacto Argentina.

The choice also manufacture the Arbus models in Argentina is due to the plantations of apples, pears, oranges, tangerines, lemons, grapes and other fruits for export.

“Argentina is one of our main markets outside Brazil. It is a country with a favorable and fertile climate, where producers are open for new technologies. Besides that, Jacto already counts on a structure in the country for 26 years and now receives this manufacturing facility,” said Fernando Gonçalves Neto, Jacto’s president.

Jacto also commented that there are governmental measures to stimulate the production in the South American country. “These measures have been positive to improve profitability and agricultural future projection,” said Carlos Palmieri, Jacto Argentina general manager. The company currently exports to 100 countries throughout the world.
