Diesel Forward, H.G. Makelim Merge

06 December 2017

The Heavy Duty Division of H.G. Makelim Co., South San Francisco, Calif. will merge with Diesel Forward, Inc., Windsor, Wis. effective December 18, 2017. Both companies distribute diesel engine parts for manufacturers such as Bosch, Stanadyne, Denso, Delphi, Alliant Power, Borg Warner, and Holset into the aftermarket. With the merger, Diesel Forward will now operate four stocking warehouses spanning four time zones across the United States.

Founded in 1922, H.G. Makelim Co. supplies industrial engines, diesel fuel injection systems, test equipment, rotating electrical products, turbochargers, generator sets, and accessories throughout the Western United States. H.G. Makelim Co.’s Industrial Engine Division is unaffected by this merger.

This is the second move in recent months for Diesel Forward, Inc., which added Alliant Power earlier this year.  The company now also includes DIS Distribution, a supplier of aftermarket diesel parts serving the U.S. and Midwest and Northeast, as well as Diesel Injection Service, an on-site and mobile service center.

Bob Breunig, president of Diesel Forward, said, “This is an important strategic move that will benefit our employees, suppliers, and our mutual customers by allowing us to leverage joint strengths from coast to coast. Through this affiliation, we will expand our distribution and service reach and capabilities. Our customers will have expanded access to customer service as well as product and technical support.”
