Comer Industries, which acquired Walterscheid Powertrain Group earlier this year, announced that the companies are exhibiting together for the first time at Bauma 2022 in Munich, Germany. Both specialize in solutions for powertrain systems used in demanding off-highway and industrial equipment. Their display  includes solutions for compact equipment, mining and excavators.

Walterscheid is highlighting its ICVD transmission, a compact, robust integrated hydrostatic drive unit for stepless acceleration up to 40km/h with improved operator comfort. It comes in two versions, both with a conversion range of 8:1.

Among Comer Industries products on display is the all-new PG 1500 EX slew drive for 20-ton excavators. This two-stage planetary is 20% lighter than the previous model and can be supplied as a complete package or delivered as a gearbox only. It also electric ready.

The 17C cardon joint size completes the company’s size range and serves primarily as a propeller shaft for applications such as rigid dump trucks and large wheel loaders, plus can be used as a main or auxiliary drive on large industrial machines. It can transmit up to 120 kNm of torque and accommodates 25° intermittent articulation.

The two-speed S529 Easy Shift gearbox is a synchronized transmission offering improved shift timing and smooth shifting behavior. It comes as a standalone transmission or directly flanged on Comer Industries axles. It also couples and works seamlessly with most common hydrostatic motors and controls on the market.

Suited for compact electric vehicles, the I-S428 HS is Comer Industries’ latest generation of electrified transmissions, offering enhanced capability and a maximum input speed of 9000 rpm. It provides a noise reduction of approximately 25% compared to the previous version and runs without forced oil lubrication.

The I-S428 is available as a standalone gearbox or directly flanged to the redesigned FC08 HD, the company’s new axle series for loaders up to 4.5 ton operating weight. The FC08 HD can supply up to 15% more torque density compared to the standard version, according to the company.
