CNH Industrial N.V. has launched a new brand, AgXtend, to focus on aftermarket precision farming technology solutions. A phased rollout is planned for the first quarter of 2019 across the entire EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. Customers will be able to purchase the products and services from Case IH, Steyr and New Holland dealers.
The company said AgXtend will specialize in emerging precision farming and ISObus solutions and provide customers with access to a range of solutions from strategic partner companies, shortening their time to market, and facilitating wide-scale adoption.
CNH said the new brand will extend its offering in the precision farming segment, and is a key step in the company’s transition from focusing predominantly on guidance solutions to encompassing the full range of precision solutions and connected services.
The initial offering is five products covering zero-chemical weed control, using electro-herbicide technology; real-time soil sensing systems that automatically adjust implement working parameters to deliver uniform tillage performance; highly accurate near-infrared and sensing systems that provide real time crop data to enable the selection of the most efficient machine operating parameters; a biomass sensing package which monitors plant condition to calibrate the application of fertilizer; and the use of Internet of Things logic to combine a range of real-time weather sensor data to facilitate informed agronomic decision making.
The AgXtend range of products can be integrated into Case IH’s AFS, Steyr’s S-TECH and New Holland Agriculture’s PLM existing precision farming platforms, said the company. A full range of competitor tractors, harvesting equipment and implements will be able to use these solutions, said CNH.
“We deliberately chose breakthrough technologies and dynamic precision farming solutions from strategic partner companies to make AgXtend a highly efficient management tool far beyond precision guidance,” said Maxime Rocaboy, product marketing manager for CNH in the EMEA region. “The new five products available at launch each are designed to aid decision making, improve the accuracy of resources used such as fuel, nutrients, crop protection products, and time, whilst making the most of measured data.”
