By Mike Osenga08 May 2018

Bukh A/S in Denmark has acquired Sweden’s Marinediesel AB´s production of VGT marine engines, taking over the production and development of the GM-based V8 diesel. In the future, production, sales and support will take place from Bukh´s Danish operations. Bukh makes diesel marine engines for pleasure boats, lifeboats and fast rescue boats ranging from 17.9 to 596 kW. MarineDiesel make diesel and gaseous fuel engines in the approximate range of 10 to 567 kW.
The transition of the Marinediesels VGT marine engines assets began from the takeover date – April 16, 2018 – and all inquiries, support, spare parts and engine sales will be handled by Bukh A/S.
Bukh said there will be a transition period when the assets from Marinediesel AB move from Ängelholm, Sweden, to the Bukh factory in Krusaa, Denmark. This transition period will affect the delivery time of spare parts as well as engines, the company said.
Bukh said the acquisition “strengthens Bukh´s position, expertise and competitiveness in the marine segments where Bukh has been represented for more than 110 years.”
The Bukh staff has several years of experience with the VGT range, and Bukh said its sales team is ready to support the Marinediesel AB customers / OEM / distributors.
