Vermeer in distribution deal with Bron for utility plows

09 February 2021

Vermeer has announced a distribution agreement with Bron, a Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, manufacturer of utility plows and attachments.

In the latest of what has become a series of moves expanding the product range of its distribution network, Vermeer Corp. announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Bron that gives the manufacturer of utility track plows and plow attachments the rights to sell its products through Vermeer industrial dealers worldwide.

The agreement establishes Vermeer dealerships as the exclusive distributor for two of BRON’s tracked utility plows in the 200 hp (149 kW) and 300 hp (224 kW) class, and provides them the ability to sell the line of Bron utility plow attachments.

A family-owned company based in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, Bron has been active in the utility and underground infrastructure installation markets for more than 40 years and offers a range of heavy-duty plows and attachments that include static and vibratory plows, trenchers, rippers and add-on plows.

Vermeer said it is teaming up with Bron to support customers working to keep up with major global investments in rural fiber and underground infrastructure. Vermeer said Bron’s products complement the Vermeer utility plow lineup by providing additional options for heavy-duty plows and attachments that are geared for some of the deeper and more extreme installation applications.

“This agreement positions Vermeer to better help our customers capture more of the underground telecom and energy work that will be required to provide more reliable access to critical infrastructure around the world.” said Vice President of Environmental and Infrastructure Sales, Dave Wisniewski.

“As a fellow family-owned company, we are excited to deepen our partnership with Vermeer and its dealers around the world,” said Robert Hall, president of Bron. “Our products, partnered with the reach and expertise of the Vermeer dealer network, put us all in a stronger position to support our customers with the tools and service they need to stay productive.”

Bron said it expects its products to be available at Vermeer dealerships in February 2021.

This move was just a latest in a flurry of deals Vermeer has forged with other manufacturers over the last several months. At the beginning of February, it acquired a minority share of MultiOne, an Italian manufacturer of compact articulated loaders. Vermeer previously had a distribution agreement with MultiOne through which Vermeer sold Vermeer-branded MultiOne loaders through its distribution network.

On the same day, Vermeer revealed it sold its forestry mulcher line to Fecon LLC, and reached an agreement with Fecon to sell Vermeer-branded mulching equipment built by Fecon through Vermeer distribution.

In late December, Vermeer announced its acquisition of electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Dutch manufacturer Normag. Through the acquisition, Vermeer assumed the rights to develop, manufacture and distribute the established fully electric HDD rigs, generator sets and fluid management systems, which are currently operating across Europe under the Normag brand.

Then earlier in December, Vermeer reached a distribution agreement with Florida’s MGL Engineering Inc. through which Vermeer will distribute MGL’s organic material handling and processing equipment that complements the Vermeer lineup of trommel screens and horizontal and tub grinders.

The MGL equipment will be sold through Vermeer industrial dealers in the United States and Canada. Equipment will include a series of tracked stacking conveyors ranging from 50 to 80 ft. (15 to 24 m), an 80 ft. (24 m) feeder stacker, a mulch coloring drum and an air lift separator attachment.
