Sany 4,000 tonner put to work
27 July 2020
A recently-delivered 4,000 tonne capacity Sany SCC40000A crawler crane was put straight to work on a petrochemicals project in Northern China.
On 16 July the giant double lattice boom crane was used to erect the fourth propylene splitter column of the country’s first integrated production line for rubber and plastics. It was the heaviest lift on the RMB16 billion (US$2.3 billion) project.
The SCC40000A has a maximum load moment rating of 90,000 tonne-metres. Zhang Yang, project manager at the Sany Equipment Research Centre, said this crane carries more than 20 patents and uses a superlift counterweight trolley with double crawler tracks. Its undercarriage uses four crawlers and eight drives. Transporting the crane requires 150 trailer loads at 30 tonnes each.
