Bosch, OMB Saleri develop H2 tank valves and regulators
24 November 2021
Bosch has extended its portfolio of mobile hydrogen components with the addition of tank valves and pressure regulators. The hardware was developed in partnership with OMB Saleri.
In addition, the partnership will look to develop further hardware to support hydrogen storage at pressures ranging from 350 to 700 bar. The products will be optimised for volume production.
Based in Brescia, Italy, OMB Saleri is a specialist in hydrogen storage solutions. While the Italian firm will develop related hardware, Bosch will assist with commercialisation of the products.
Bosch is forecasting that by 2030 one in eight newly-registered commercial vehicles will use a hydrogen fuel cell. Between 2021 and 2024, the German supplier is planning to invest €600 million developing mobile fuel cell applications and a further €400 million on stationary solutions.
The portfolio for vehicles will range from sensors through to electric air compressors and stacks for fuel cell modules.
