BIA, Cummins Extend Partnership In Africa

BIA, the Belgian-based company specializing in the distribution of engines, engine-powered products and accessories in the Benelux region and Africa, has announced an expansion of its relationship with Cummins through which BIA will be responsible for distribution of engines, generator sets and filter systems in several African countries. BIA has been active in distribution of Cummins Power Generation (CPG) generator sets and controls, along with Tecnogen generators, mobile equipment from Komatsu, Sandvik, Bomag and Terex Cranes and Michelin tires. Now along with CPG diesel and natural gas gen-sets up to 2.7 MW, BIA will also handle diesel engines to 3500 hp and Cummins Fleetguard air and liquid filtration systems, exhaust systems, cooling fluids, and chemical technologies for engines and engine systems.

"The extension of our Cummins distribution contract is important to our company,” said Eric Perben, general manager of BIA Africa. “Our employees have had the opportunity to develop their expertise over the years, so we are ready to provide outstanding service to our current and future customers. We really believe in Cummins products and we are proud to distribute them."

BIA is now the official distributor of Cummins engines for the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Togo, Benin and Burkina Faso and will also serve as the official Cummins Fleetguard systems dealer for its entire territory. It distributes CPG products in the Congo, the DRC, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast.
