New Electrical Connector

Ladd Industries, the authorized U.S. distributor of Deutsch industrial products, has announced the availability of the DRC22-40PA connector. The DRC series connectors are high density pin count rectangular connectors specifically designed for vehicle and equipment environments where moisture, dirt and rough terrain can contaminate or damage electrical connections.

The DRC22-40PA connector accepts a total of 40 size 20 contacts rated at 7.5 amps each. While most of the DRC20 series connectors have molded-in contacts, the DRC20 connectors does not  have the contacts molded in and will accept any of size 20 pins, in either gold or nickel, from the Deutsch common contact system. The DRC series’ dielectric contact retention system is an integral part of the connector insert and is designed to allow quick and simple assembly, while still providing a positive lock for reliability. The high-performance thermoplastic body also includes an integral flange for environmentally sealed bulkhead mounting.

The use of silicone rubber seals and wire grommets designed to withstand the high temperatures of engine and transmission environments and a rectangular shape, the DRC22-40PA is especially suited for internally or externally mounted electronic modules, the company said. The operating temperature range of the connectors is -67° to 257° (-55° to 125° C). The DRC22-40PA connectors are shock and vibration resistant and meet all the standard specifications for the heavy-duty Deutsch product line, according to Ladd.
