Micro Push Buttons

Elobau Sensor Technology Inc. has introduced a compact push button control for applications such as joysticks, multifunction handles and control panels in mobile equipment. The new 145MA micro push button control is based on Hall effect technology and provides a 0.5 to 4.5 V linear output proportional to the displacement of the actuator. It is designed to provide an accurate proportional control of auxiliary functions, the company said.

The 145MA push button is 27 mm long, with a diameter of 16 mm and can be mounted through a 12 mm hole. Similar to other Elobau push buttons, the 145MA has different standard colors available for the actuator cap, and can be customized to accommodate specific symbols.

The 145MA incorporates a non-contact Hall effect sensor that utilizes a magnet that moves along a Hall Effect sensor located in the push-button housing. The total stroke is 4 mm and provides a ratiometric output voltage between 0.5 and 4.5 Vdc. Supply voltage is 4.5 to 5.5 Vdc. The current drain is 15 mA maximum, the company said and the electrical connection is through three wires with a standard length of 500 mm.

The non-contact sensing technology is guaranteed to two million switching operations, Elobau said. The 145MA push-button operates in a range from -13º to 175ºF (-40º to 85ºC) and a rubber boot provides a IP67 protection class above the mounting panel, the company said.
