Westport Innovations Inc. a provider of alternative fuel, low-emissions transportation technologies, has received EPA 2010 certification for the Westport GX 2010 15 L engine. Westport received certification of the GX engine to the U.S. EPA’s 2010 emissions limits of 0.2 g/bhp-hr of NOx and 0.01 g/bhp-hr PM without the use of emissions credits.
In addition, the GX engine meets Australia's Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government certification to the Australian Design Rules (ADR) 80/03, which takes effect for all heavy-duty truck models starting January 2011.
