Eaton Re-Engineers Weatherhead Hydraulic Hose

Eaton Corp. announced that select one- and two-wire braid and four-spiral hose styles marketed as part of its new Weatherhead Diamond Advantage program have been re-engineered to provide higher working pressures and higher temperature ratings, as well as improved abrasion resistance. Included are the Weatherhead H190, H280, H290, H430 and H245L, hose styles, which are suitable for a range of general hydraulics applications, including construction, agriculture, mining, forestry and material handling equipment, as well as stationary industrial markets.

The Diamond Advantage products are designed to offer higher pressure ratings, an improved temperature rating of +260° F and a more abrasion-resistant cover than previous hoses, the company said. The new cover technology on the hoses is a significant improvement, Eaton said, as more than half of hose failures can be tied to abrasion.

Upgraded Weatherhead H190, H280, H290, and H245L hose styles meet and exceed Euro Norm SN/SC standards, the company stated. The H430 4-spiral hose meets and exceeds EN 4SP pressures in sizes -8 through -16 and meets and exceeds SAE 100R12 standards in all sizes, Eaton added.
