583 Series Rotary Position Sensors
The CTS 583 Series non-contacting sensor is the latest in a long line of robust and highly reliable rotary position sensors developed for the automotive, commercial and off-road vehicle markets. This position sensor is specifically designed for high temperature and harsh environments associated with powertrain, transmission, emission control and other under-hood and chassis applications.
The 583 series position sensor is capable of continuous operating temperatures of 160°C and withstanding excursions well beyond 160°C with virtually no degradation in output performance. It incorporates a unique design that eliminates possible leak-paths and a high-performance radial seal that fully seals the sensor interface. CTS also offers a 582 series sensor similarly constructed to the 583, but designed for operation at 140°C; making it more cost-effective for less demanding applications.
Both sensors include a direct drive shaft coupling to maximize positional accuracy. Output options include single or dual outputs in analog or digital modes for up to 360 degrees of rotation. Customers have a choice of either a wire harness or an integral connector interface.
