@EDM: Eaton Unveils Modular Valve Range

Posted on September 13, 2011

In the next phase of its alliance with Europe’s Linde Hydraulics, Eaton Corp. has introduced a new line of modular valves for mobile machines such as hydraulic excavators. The valves were introduced at the Eaton Distributor Meeting (EDM).

The new DuraForce VT valves are manifold mounted, sectional post-compensated load sense control valves that can accommodate flow rates as high as 159 gpm (600 lpm) at operating pressures to 5800 psi (400 bar). The DuraForce VT valves are made up of individual manifold valve plates that are arranged in a modular building block system that can be configured to match application with from one to as many as 12 actuators.

Eaton said the valves can provide fuel savings of as much as 10% when compared to typical excavator control systems and offer more intuitive machine operation through load effect compensation. Installation complexity is also reduced and performance optimized through the valves’ modular construction, the company said.

The new valves are the latest fruits of the global alliance formed between Eaton and Linde in 2010. The alliance gives Eaton access to Linde’s wide range of high-pressure piston pumps, motors and valves while Linde draws on Eaton’s medium-pressure piston pump and motor portfolio. Eaton markets the Linde-built products in the Americans and Asia Pacific regions.
