Freightliner Names Baumann President Of Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing

Freightliner LLC announced that Friedrich Baumann has been appointed president of Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing. Baumann will be responsible for the overall vision, strategy and operations of Freightliner's remanufacturing business, including the company's five remanufacturing locations throughout North America. Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing remanufactures and markets a complete line of diesel engines and related products in North America, including the reliabilt brand.

Baumann's most recent role was general manager of Purchasing and Supply for Freightliner. He joined the company in 1993 as a Financial Analyst and since then, has held various positions of increasing responsibility with the company in such areas as controlling, product cost reductions and used truck operations. He succeeds Jim Morrow, who elected to retire after nearly 40 years with Detroit Diesel.
