A fire at the paint shop of Tata Motors Ltd., India’s largest manufacturer of trucks and commercial vehicles, may disrupt production for about a week in its Pune factory, according to a company statement. There was no indication as to the cause of the blaze or how much damage was done to the plant. "(After that) it may take some time for the facility to ramp up fully to its existing production levels," the company’s statement said.

The extent of damage from the fire is still being determined and the facility is insured for fire, including loss of operations, the statement said. The company said it is mobilizing alternate painting facilities at the plant in Pune, near Mumbai. The company has about a week's inventory in the pipeline.
