Cat 4.4 Diesel Joins ACERT Range

The C4.4 ACERT will have outputs from 83 to 150 hp and will feature a 4-valve head, Cat common rail fuel system and will be available in naturally-aspirated, turbocharged or turbocharged/after-cooled versions. The engine, Cat said, also features a 2.50 dBA noise level reduction at its 2200 rpm full rated speed, with the addition of optional features such as an isolated, non-structural oil pan and an insulated oil pan.
Cat also said a Tier 3/Stage 3A mechanical version of the C4.4 will be introduced in the third quarter of 2006 for ratings above 100 bhp and in the second quarter of 2007 for ratings below 100 bhp. The mechanical C4.4 will have ratings from 70 to 117 bhp. Cat said this is its platform technology for Tier 4 developments as well.
