Power Dense PTO

November 29, 2011

Parker Chelsea has introduced a new configuration in its 10-bolt power take-off (PTO) line designed to provide improved power density over existing units. The new Chelsea 877 Series PTO is a constant mesh PTO with torque ratings up to 670 lb. ft. engineered to fit on most automatic transmissions used in applications such as oil & gas, refuse and sewer vehicles, fire and rescue apparatus and other vocational vehicles.

The 56 lb. unit incorporates a compact housing designed to reduce clearance issues, the company said. Eight internal gear ratios and 3 in. and 5 in. assembly arrangements are offered to maximize application flexibility. Installation requires a single hose and direct mount pump flange options are available with wet splines intended to provide increased PTO and pump shaft life, Chelsea said.
