Urea Dosing System

November 9, 2011

Cummins Emission Solutions (CES) said it is in the advanced development stages of a new urea dosing system for selective catalytic reduction systems for diesel engines. The EcoFit system is designed to address global emissions regulations in both stringently regulated areas as well as emerging markets such as China, India, and Russia.

The EcoFit urea dosing system is a reductant delivery technology that injects a solution of 32.5% urea and 67.5% de-ionized water - also known as diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or AdBlue - into the exhaust stream. Engineered to offer significant system integration opportunities, CES said the EcoFit dosing system delivers improved NOx conversion efficiency which can allow SCR systems to be reduced in size and provide improved fuel economy.
