Big Investment By Daimler Trucks In Brazil

Daimler Trucks will make a significant investment in the commercial vehicle plants of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. At the 19th Fenatran international transport exhibition being held in São Paulo, the company announced it will invest approximately €300 million over the next two years. The financing will be placed mainly in research and development of new products and technologies, as well as in process optimizations and modernization of the two production plants São Bernardo do Campo in São Paulo stare and Juiz de Fora in the state of Minas Gerais.

 “Today, Brazil is the most important sales market for our trucks with the star worldwide,” said Stefan Buchner, head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Europe and Latin America. “We have faith in the further growth potential of this important market. Therefore, we will continue to invest in new products and state-of-the-art production facilities here.”

In the São Bernardo do Campo plant, Daimler AG manufactures trucks, bus chassis and aggregate systems such as engines, transmissions and axles, as well as truck cabs. Juiz de Fora produces the Mercedes-Benz Actros and the light-duty Accelo truck for the Latin American market.
