Williams Appoints New Engineering VP

Williams Controls Inc. has promoted Scott Thiel to vice president of Engineering and Development. Thiel will direct the company’s growing electronic throttle control engineering and development activities worldwide, in addition to managing its Conceptual Development Center (CDC).

Thiel joined Williams Controls in 2004 as manager of engineering. Most recently, he served as Williams’ director of Engineering where he led the implementation of the company’s CDC which uses the latest development and prototyping technology to turn throttle control designs into customer prototypes.

Thiel currently supervises 40 staff and engineers throughout the world and plans to expand the Williams Controls’ design engineer team in the United States, Europe and China to accommodate growing customer demand. In addition, Thiel will lead an effort to enhance the company’s laboratories with the implementation of real-time, continuous monitoring and the investment in additional state-of-the-art testing and validation technology.
