Posted on October 6, 2005

Caterpillar’s C32 diesel will be the vanguard for the Peoria, Ill. manufacturer’s move of its ACERT emissions technology into the electrical power generation markets.

The first Cat ACERT gen-set engines will power newly introduced 60 Hz and 50 Hz generator sets rated 900 to 1000 kW, designed for standby use and load management. Cat added that 125 to 800 kW sets with ACERT diesels will be introduced during the rest of 2005 and into 2006.
