@Power Gen: Doosan Launches First Tier 4 Final Gen-Set
At Power Gen International in Orlando, Doosan Portable Power has launched the company’s first Tier 4 Final generator — the G240WCU — which incorporates a new control panel designed for easier operation.
“The launch of this Tier 4 Final Doosan generator is evidence of our company’s continued leadership in tier changes,” said Wyatt Franks, assistant product marketing manager, North American generators, Doosan Portable Power.
The G240 includes a reconfigured control panel with a newly integrated digital controller, the DynaGen TG-410 controller. The panel combines multiple machine parameters into one display, which gives operators efficient access to machine information, Doosan said.
The unit is equipped with a three-position voltage configuration, plus an additional 600 V option through the Doosan Quad Voltage feature, designed to allow users to select the most appropriate voltage by application, thereby conserving power and fuel.
The G240 is powered by a Cummins QSB7-G6 Tier 4 Final engine rated 282 hp, with a fuel tank capacity of 368 gal. that provides 26 hours’ runtime at 100% load, a 5% increase over the Tier 4 interim version, the company said. The engine drives a Leroy-Somer alternator with AREP excitation that protects against overload and short-circuits and encourages voltage stability and greater motor starting capability, Doosan said.
The G240 Tier 4 Final gen-set also incorporates diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment.
