New Tier 4 Final Compressors From Doosan
Doosan Portable Power has unveiled what it called the industry’s first Tier 4 Final air compressors in the newest versions of its most widely used models, the P185 and C185 compressors. Delivering 100 psi at 185 cfm, the P185 and C185 are designed for a variety of work site applications, such as powering handheld air tools, sandblasting, sprinkler and irrigation line blow-out, cable laying and pipeline testing.
The compressors are powered by Deutz D2.9 L4 electronically controlled diesel engines rated 49 hp. The engines incorporate diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) aftertreatment for emissions reduction. The compressors can run for nine (P185) and seven (PC185) hours at 100% load with a single tank of fuel, the company said.
A new control panel incorporating an LED backlit display allows operators to view multiple machine parameters, including ambient temperature, engine oil pressure, percent engine load and air end temperature. The panel also includes a push-button start, and simple switch functions for stop and service air, helping users operate the machine as efficiently as possible, Doosan said.
Operator safety is enhanced on models with available curbside controls and service valves designed to keep users safe from the hazards of traffic on highway jobs, along with starter protection to prevent the starter from engaging while running and auto shutdowns for high discharge, high engine temperatures or low engine oil pressure conditions.
