MTU, Rostselmash Announce Strategic Partnership
Global engine manufacturer MTU and Russian agricultural machinery manufacturer Rostselmash have announced the signing of a letter of intent stating that Rostselmash will give preference to MTU engines for its range of combine harvesters and forage harvesters. The Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen and Rostselmash concluded the agreement at Agritechnica in Hanover.
The letter of intent stipulates that in future years, up to 3000 Rostselmash vehicles per year will be equipped with MTU 6R 460, 6R 906 and 6R 926 diesels covering a power range from 130 to 375 kW. The MTU in-line engines, which are based on Mercedes-Benz diesels, meet EU Stage 3a and EPA Tier 3 emission specifications, the companies said. They will be used in the Torum 740 combine and the RSM 1401 forage harvester, among others.
The machines are intended for the Russian market as well as for export markets such as Poland, Rumania, Hungary or Turkey, MTU said.
