Gems Introduces Ultrasonic Continuous Liquid Level Sensor

Posted on November 12, 2008

Gems Sensors & Controls has launched the UCL-510 Ultrasonic Level sensor. The compact UCL-510 sensor is aimed at non-contact applications such as industrial water treatment, wastewater management, chemical storage and other challenging fluid measurement applications.

Designed with no moving parts, the UCL-510 sensor provides a higher accuracy and reliable measurements, Gems said. It has been built for built for general purpose, small tank applications that are 49.2 in or less. The sensor offers switch, controller and transmitter capabilities in one multi-function transmitter and is packaged within a 2 in. dead band. A PC interface provides a faster and a more accurate configuration, Gems said.

The UCL-510 sensor is also suited for corrosive and dirty applications and is designed to be virtually maintenance free. Reduced tank system hardware has been integrated into the assembly as well as a combining 4 relays, 4-20mA output and pump/valve control into one sensor.

Gems Sensors & Controls produces a range of liquid level, flow, and pressure sensors; solid-state relays and barriers; liquid and pneumatic miniature solenoid valves; and pre-assembled fluidic systems. The company has facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia.
