GT Development and Norgren's Global Truck Group have established a new business unit, Global Vehicle Technologies (GVT). Global Vehicle Technologies is a manufacturer of fluid and motion controls for original equipment commercial vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers worldwide.

"By expanding the components and expertise of GT Development and Norgren's Global Truck Group, we can engineer and source many of the unique and critical parts that go into commercial trucks," said Mike Bozich, GVT president.

Seattle-based GT Development was acquired in 2005 by United Kingdom-headquartered engineering company IMI and integrated into Norgren, its largest business unit. GVT is projected to generate a significant share of Norgren's estimated $1 billion revenue in 2006. GVT employs about 800 people worldwide, including 200 in the Seattle headquarters. Norgren accounted for more than $900 million of IMI's sales of $2.5 billion in fiscal year 2005, according to IMI.

On the chassis/cab side, GVT's product lineup covers custom-engineered, on-board fittings, manifolds, cab controls and air management systems. Powertrain components include valves, cartridges and actuators.
