Hino To Build Trucks In U.S. In '07

Hino Motors Ltd. has decided to start manufacturing trucks in North America by the second half of 2007 according to the Japanese newspaper the Nihon Keizai Shimbun The plant is expected to be located in Marion, Ark. with production expected to be around 10,000 units a year. Construction of the truck manufacturing facility is expected to begin by the second half of 2006. Marion is the site of Hino's truck parts facility, which is currently under construction. Hino said it hopes to increase its U.S. sales from a projected 6300 units in fiscal 2005 to 12,000 units in fiscal 2007.
