Nelson Global, Universal In Silencer Licensing Deal
Nelson Global Products Inc. (NGP) announced it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Universal Acoustic and Emission Technologies (UAET) to market, manufacture and distribute cylindrical Quiet Shield silencers for use on high-speed diesel and natural gas engines for the power generation market. The agreement applies to cylindrical QuietShield engine silencers with a nominal inlet size of 18 in. or less.
Universal, which like NGP is headquartered in Stoughton, Wis., will continue to design and manufacture Quiet Shield puck and oval style silencers of all sizes and cylindrical silencers with inlets 20 in. and larger.
“Given our long history, proximity and strong relationship with Universal, it was a perfect fit for NGP to license the Quiet Shield cylindrical product line to add a high performance, smaller package size silencer to the NGP Industrial product line while leveraging NGP’s manufacturing operations,” said Kevin Stokstad, senior director of Product Management – Exhaust and Emissions, Nelson Global Products. “The UAET Quiet Shield technology combined with NGP operations and Nelson brand legacy is a powerful combination to grow the Quiet Shield product line.”
The silencers will be manufactured at Nelson’s Arcadia, Wis., plant and will be available for shipment starting in June, NGP said. Updated NGP Quiet Shield catalogs and price list will be available in the near future.
“Our customers benefit from continued access to the cylindrical Quiet Shield product line from a strong, reputable supplier in Nelson Global Products,” said Ron Jake, marketing manager at Universal Acoustic & Emission Technologies.
