SCR Hose Line Expanded
Parker Hannifin has expanded its range of electrically heated hose assemblies designed for use with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment systems. The company now offers 3 mm and 4 mm nylon options along with 4 mm and 5.5 mm EPDM heated hoses for special order. Parker said it has also made a number of custom solutions for DEF fill lines and other on-engine heated lines in special sizes from 7.5 mm to 24 mm ID.
The SCR hose is designed for heating and conveying diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) throughout the SCR system on commercial vehicles. The electrically heated hoses are designed to provide a thaw profile that performs better than traditional coolant heated hoses in terms of time and consistency of DEF thawing. Parker’s SCR hoses encapsulate the heating elements with an extruded sheath for better protection and long-lasting uniform heating, the company said. The overmold on the fittings is also designed to provide impact and water resistance, making the hoses suitable for multiple environments, Parker said.
The hoses have multiple options for fittings, electrical connectors and overall lengths that Parker said allows customization. For quick turnaround, the standard 6 mm nylon lines can be manufactured in a variety of lengths to meet short manufacturing timelines, the company said and the hoses can be manufactured for 12 or 24V systems, Parker said.
