Daimler To Manufacture Fuso Trucks In India
As part of its “Asia Business Model” strategy, Daimler Trucks announced that it will begin manufacturing Fuso brand commercial vehicles in Chennai, India, for distribution and sales in export markets as early as in the second quarter. The production will be as the result of a cooperative effort from subsidiaries Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp., Kawasaki, Japan, and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), Chennai.
“Our `Quality Made in India´ has been successfully proven with the milestone of over 1000 BharatBenz trucks sold in three months since its launch,” said Marc Llistosella, DICV managing director & CEO. “Now, we will start the production of BharatBenz and Fuso trucks under one roof – BharatBenz vehicles for the Indian market and Fuso vehicles for selected export markets.”
