Liebherr Invests In Component Manufacturing
Liebherr Group has announced an investment of approximately €160 million ($221 million) in its Bulle, Switzerland plant over the next six years.
The facility, which produces diesel and gas engines, fuel injection systems, hydraulic components and splitter boxes, will be equipped with new production machines. The capacity for diesel engine assembly will also be expanded.
The area for engine R&D will be substantially increased and the service and logistics infrastructure will be modernized, said the company, with the addition of a new warehouse and logistics center and the expansion of the training center.
Liebherr also said production capacity for common rail fuel injection systems will be increased to more than 100,000 units per year in a new section of the factory that is due to be opened in 2016.
