Marcopolo Announces New President

Marcopolo SA announced that Mauro Gilberto Bellini has been elected president of the Brazilian body bus builder. Bellini’s term runs from 2012 to 2014, after which he will be eligible for re-election. Bellini is the son of the company’s founder, Paulo Bellini, who will serve as president emeritus.

Previously, Mauro Bellini served as vice president of the administrative council. He also was a director of Brasa PTY, in Joanesburgo, in South Africa, where he played a significant role in the commercialization of Marcopolo buses in that region and was responsible for the market development in more than 30 African and Middle East countries.

Marcopolo also announced several other management changes. Oscar de Paula Bernardes Netotakes has been named vice president and the new administrative council consists of Luciano Moisés Bado, Maria Letícia de Freitas Costa, Fuad Jorge Noman Filho, Paulo Cezar da Silva Nunes and Manuela Cristina Lemos Marçal. Valter Gomes Pinto continues as Marcopolo’s director.
