JCB To Import Small Groundcare Tractors

Posted on March 27, 2006

JCB is understood to be planning to start importing and branding as JCB, tractors aimed at the smaller end of the market. The U.K.-based company would not comment or give any product details but Diesel Progress International understands that a formal announcement is due to be made later this year – probably in early September at the IOG Saltex ground care and estate management trade show in Windsor, England.

The tractors will be built “in a low cost country” at a non-JCB facility according to sources, although this is not thought to be in India. The lower cost tractors would provide an extra product within the company’s Groundcare machine range whose products include its garden tractor, micro excavator, the JCB Mini CX – its smallest backhoe loader and its Groundhog utility vehicle.
